Bikes are a great method of transportation. They don't need gas, they give the rider some exercise and they are relatively quick. The one major drawback of bikes is that their portability makes them an easy target for theft. Fortunately, there are bike racks that not only deter theft, but also give owners a place to store their bikes.
There are a few different types of bike racks, but
wall mount bike racks are the most effective for indoor use. Both single wall mount bike racks and standing wall mount bike racks provide significant advantages over floor mount bike racks. For instance, floor mount bike racks take up space on the owner's property, whether they're outside or kept in the garage. Considering that some bikes are pretty large, a person who owns multiple bikes would lose a lot of space when using floor mount bike racks. Single wall mount bike racks get away from this problem because, as the name implies, the bike gets mounted on a wall where it is up out of the way. Some space on the wall is lost when using single wall mount bike racks, but most people find that floor space is much more valuable than wall space.
The two main types of wall mounts, single wall mount bike racks and standing wall mount bike racks, take different approaches to bike storage. Single wall mount racks typically store the bike vertically, with the tires secured to a track that is mounted on the wall. Such mounts make a compromise between floor space and wall space, jutting out over the floor but taking up less space on the wall since they are vertical. In a small living space or another area where the bike needs to cover less of the floor, these mounts are great options.
On the other hand, standing
wall mount bike racks take usually store the bikes in a horizontal manner, causing them to take up less floor space but more wall space. These wall mounts are an excellent option for owners who are storing more than one bike. They are ideal since when multiple bikes are being stored, one can be stored above the other to increase the amount of space saved.
No matter the case, both single and standing wall mount bike racks are options that bike owners should consider for storage. They minimize the amount of space that's taken up, while still giving the owner a place to store his or her bike. Floor mount bike racks are a great option as well, but they do take up more space. Since most wall mount bike racks don't require any sort of permanent mounting, there's no reason for bike owners not to consider using them and saving space.
